Sunday Meetings
Given the current situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are now conducting our Sunday morning worship via Zoom video at 10:30am every Sunday. If you would like to join us for Zoom worship please email admin@penge-anglicans.org and let us know and we will pass on a Zoom link for the next Sunday's service.
The church building is open once a week between 3pm and 4pm. Click/tap here for more info.
We post recordings of the reading, talks and prayers, along with some worship song links that may be helpful. We really hope that everyone being able to listen to these will help us to stay connected while we look forward to the time when we can meet physically together again. Please tap or click here to go to our 'Sundays at St John's' page.
Thank you.
Location
St John's Church, 2 St John's Road, Penge, London SE20 7EQ
Service Times
Sunday 10.30 am
Types of Service
The first Sunday of the month is Family Communion and we have an All Age service on the fourth Sunday of the month.
All other services are Morning Worship where the focus is on bible teaching.
Sunday School (4-11 year olds)
On a Family Communion Sunday the children start the service in church so they are able to come to the Lord's Table with their families. For Morning Worship Sundays they are invited to join their groups before the service starts and will stay out for the whole time. For All Age services they will stay in church with the church family.
Youth (11+)
Young people aged 11+ are expected to worship and serve as adults in the main congregation and to meet later on Sundays for bible study and prayer.
Travel - rail and bus
There are two railway stations in the parish, Penge West and Penge East (see map). Penge West is on the southbound route of the London Overground (the East London Line) which is connected to the London Underground via London Bridge and Canada Water.
Penge East station is a 16 minute journey from London Victoria on the Orpington line.
There is a bus stop close to St John's church building on Penge High Street.
If you the live in the parish the best way to get to church is to walk!
Parking
Parking in the church grounds is currently very limited but there is street parking in St John's Road. St John's Road has parking restrictions mid-week but is unrestricted during the weekend.
